They Say It's My Birthday

Sunday January 19th

We awoke early today. It's my birthday!! So, it's appropriate for a little self-reflection. My reflections take many directions - like being in a multi-mirrored room.  (more below picture)

One reflection is, that this is a purely arbitrary distinction, time, that is. Then I have the thoughts of the actuarial tables that say I am likely to live somewhere between 10 and 25 more years!! So I think - many of the things I want to do take at least 30 years!! How will I master the game of GO? - that takes a minimum of 45 years or learn to play the violin ( I never till this moment had the urge to do so). Then after spinning in the whirl of all of the lives I won't lead, didn't lead, not likely to lead and am not leading now - I remember once again, I don't have a 'life' , a thing that defines who I am - that is to say, what I am is illusive, slippery and ineffable. I guess I am something - but what that is I can't exactly say. At least no final word on that That until my final breath and even then who knows. For now, I haven't found a reliable, convincing source for information on that That. So - for now I take a deep breath and I (I, an interesting concept, for now let's say a place holder, a convenience, a useful if ambiguous symbol) am off to the Louvre.
